what is the difference betwen the short tube or long tube telescopes. im a beginner and want to buy a telescope to see the moon and other planets like venus, mars, jupiter and saturn. Will a short tube like the one from the ”Orion ShortTube 80-A Refractor Telescope” be good for me?

Don’t be envious. You can afford a decent telescope to use at home which will show you some beautiful objects. Start with the basics and work your way up. You’ll get there.

They don’t. And it doesn’t require a laser collimater and skill. Just common sense. The term Dobsonian refers to the mount, not the optics. Newtonian reflectors are sometimes mounted on a Dobsonian mount. This means that the tube assembly and optics within remain static.

    I am getting a 10inch Zhumell Dobsonian.
Is this scope going to be hard to use? are reflectors in general harder to use? I also on a Meade ETX-80 refractor though and it was relatively simple.

Most big dobs need to be collimated
    many times per night.
That requires a laser collimater & skill.
