Camera and Binocular Buying Question, Which brands should I get?

I am going on a trip across Europe in a few months and I want to buy some binoculars and a camera. My price range is $20-$150 for the binoculars and $100-$500 for the camera. I want something that will work well and won’t break the second I open it. Name a brand or a specific model please!

Here you will get best Binocular in affordable price at http://www.agritura.com/index.php/cat/c210_Binoculars—Night-Vision-Device.html . This binocular offer the best of both worlds, combining contemporary styling and design with traditional Bushnell quality and durability. This particular PowerView binocular offers a 12x magnification and a 25mm objective diameter. More info, check site.

Binoculars: forget the $20 pairs. Do you wear glasses? If not this pair will do you fine. They are reasonably compact and reasonably good. And reasonably inexpensive.

If you wear glasses, this pair will allow you a better view with your glasses on.

As for a camera. I am partial to Canon myself. The big question with the purchase of a camera is what do you anticipate wanting to use it for? For me taking pictures of wildlife is a big criteria so a telephoto lense is important. I also require a view finder because that little screen is damn near worthless in bright sun light.

My camera of choice would be the Canon PowerShot SX10 IS. About $350 over the internet or less. But this might not be the ideal camera for you. It is big and bulky due to its zoom lense.

If you wish a camera to shoot mostly scenery, Canon has several that will fill the purpose. This is one of their better scenery cameras. Much more compact than the one above, but for general fotos, it will work great. A lot less expensive too, about $150 or so. Note that it does have a view finder.
