Just curious. How well do they work?? Info. appreciated
Lorenzo (btw love that name) I wish I had the $$ for another high quality SLR camera with a foot long telephoto lense.
but thanks for the input…makes sense.
I was just thinking being in the field and not having a camera around my neck etc.
I bought a Celestron binoc camera a couple years ago. Seemed like a good idea, but I found a couple problems – probably inherent in the concept. First, neither the camera or the binocs were the best available quality or tech for those items. Like buying a TV with an installed DVD player. Second, when you are holding binocs to your eyes, it is very difficult to remain as motionless as necessary to keep the resulting image from being blurry. And it’s worse if you’re shooting video. If you use a tripod, that could help, but it also makes it less convenient, and you hope what you’re looking at remains motionless as well. Unless you have a specific purpose in mind, or are going to pay for image stabilzing technology, my advice is to pass.
A professional would be using a high quality SLR camera with foot long telephoto lenses.
No, we haven’t tried this but I have tried different things in front of the lens. I tried one of those kids’ toys that look like a bee’s eye with many images of the same thing and that was fantastic. Experiement, it’s fun. use a telescope and a magnifying glass, or whatever strikes your fancy. Be creative. That’s even more fun.
