2 People See Objects Differently in Same Pair of Binoculars?

I just recently bought a pair of binoculars and I was adjusting them to get rid of a double-vision image problem. I’ve got them vertically aligned so now there is a double image side-by-side. For me, on 10x zoom i briefly see the double image and then my eyes adjust the image into 1. My wife consistently sees 2 images. Going from 10x-25x zoom slowly for me, I see that 1 image slowly separate and the 2nd, blurrier image, travels up and to the right. My wife, using the same process, sees the same 2 horizontal images, but as it’s zoomed, the right image moves only vertical.
She does wear contacts and I do not. Should one of us get our eyes checked?

Its depends on how far apart your eyes are compared yo your wife

it just that people all have slightly different
    eyes/pupils distances apart
you should both check your eyes regularly anyway

HI! You also have to remember that you are idfferent people, have different muscles and different distances between the pupils. Any time more than one person is using any kind of precision optical equipment, it has to be adjusted and fine tuned for that individual person each time they use it. It is not logical to think that just becuase you and she do not match, one of you has a defect. You both should have annual eye exams. However, that will not make you both the same. You either need two sets of binoculars so that you each have your own and set to your own personal settings, or know that you need to re set them every time you switch users. This is the same for microscopes, telescopes, other fine optical equipment. We have equipment in the optical that we all use and we all have to adjust it individually every time we use it.

Actually, I think you should return the binoculars. They are defective.
